I didn’t set out to create a skincare brand. I set out to heal – not just my skin, but my self-
worth. Growing up in Kenya, I was a shy teenager, struggling with acne and the quiet shame
that came with it. My mother – my rock – did everything she could to help. Creams, pills,
lotions… we tried it all. Nothing worked. I was left with scarring, dry skin, and a growing
belief that I’d never feel confident in my own body.
Years later, with time, healing, and the ability to explore more natural solutions, I began to
discover something beautiful: the power of nature’s own ingredients. I found relief in hemp
seed oil, plant-based butters, and vitamin-rich essential oils that didn’t just soothe my skin –
they helped it heal. The transformation was more than physical. My skin improved, yes. But
what changed most was the way I saw myself.
In that healing, Neema Botanica was born.
